"A great place to sit, eat & watch the world GO BY"

- evening standard -

mada deli was born when......

Steven and Nichole left their jobs in management in 2001 and put all their hard-earned savings into a coffee kiosk at Kingston upon Thames station. Neither of them knew how to make a cappuccino! The only coffee they could make was the instant kind (that created slow-burning romances). However, they knew the commuters would want a little bit more from their morning cup.

Embracing the challenge they learnt from a barista king in Milan; Antonio Rossini how to make a dam fine cup of coffee, The commuters loved it! Not only could they buy various styles of coffee they could also enjoy a pastry or a freshly made sandwich to boot!

Demand was great so another coffee shop was opened on Platform 2. Platform 3 took Mada Deli to Waterloo where a concession was opened at the Salvador Dali Museum in County Hall. As well as serving the Dali enthusiasts, the concept rolled over into corporate hospitality serving blue chip companies who held events at the museum.

Wanting to take their brand to the high street, 2004 saw the opening of their first Mada Deli in East Molesey. A small trendy cafe that not only offered great coffees but also amazing foods inspired by Italy. A place to sit and unwind. The deli was so well-liked and supported by the local community.

Steven and Nichole saw the potential to offer more to the neighbourhood when the opportunity arose in an old bank in Bridge Road near Hampton Court. and in 2012 the main flagship was born.  Like every great coffee story, romance was inevitable. Over a well poured latte Steven met his wife Polly, a local entrepreneur who owned a gift shop in Bridge Road. They shared the love of great coffee, fantastic food and fine wine and with a wedding and two children later, Polly is now an invaluable member of the team driving the business forward both back and front of house, sharing the appetite and devotion to making Mada Deli Pizzeria the best this side of Italy........................And so the story continues......
